With Dynamic Spectrum Sharing (DSS), 5G NR network rollout is possible with just a software upgrade, which is not only cost-effective but also quicker than other methods. 5G NR coverage can be provided on existing LTE bands without switching off LTE making it much easier for the operators to transition to 5G NR. However, DSS overhead will reduce network capacity. The best way to ensure DSS fits the purpose is to perform field measurements, comparing 5G NR with and without DSS.
